Sibling Success: 15 Years and Counting
For nearly 15 years the sister and brother duo, Lisa Holly and Woody Melton, have been in charge of the company passed on to them by their parents. After the untimely death of their mother, the founder of the now nearly 60-year-old Berea Moving and Storage Co., the torch was passed on to her children. Lisa, as the new acting president, then sat down with her employees and asked them if they were willing to work for her; wondering if she should just shut the company down and liquidate their assets. But, despite her grim predictions, all of her employees told her that they wanted the company to pull through this hardship.
With that, Lisa Holly became the President of Berea Moving and Storage Co., with her brother Woody at her side as Vice President. The pair have now been in charge for 15 years together, and even have a new family succession plan in order. As a team, Lisa and Woody expanded and officially incorporated the company’s art handling side of business as WOOD-LEE International Art Handler. In their hands, the businesses have both succeeded and grown.
